Royal Visitor to the UMCC

Her Royal Highness the Countess of Wessex visited the United Multicultural Centre on the 19th May 2011. The Countess was welcomed by the chair of the UMCC, Irene Furnell, the board members and the managing director of the UMCC, Mrs Qureshi, MBE.

The Countess visited the creche before visiting the children attending the UMCC as part of its Aiming High project for Disabled Children. The Countess spoke to the children and parents before meeting various patrons and contributors to the UMCC.

The Countess sat in on an ESOL class taking place where she had a chance to speak to the students who all welcomed the Countess and told her a little bit about themselves. The Countess was then invited to sign a guest book before unveiling a special plaque that commemorates the Countesses visit.
